One of the things that I want when I create a website is control. I hate being locked in and having to do something the way someone else thought it should be done. In recent revisions WordPress has allowed us to create custom menus and has exposed this ability to theme designers. Many new themes provide the ability for you to customize the navigation and put whatever you want on there. When I get a new theme I am working with I love to do some trial and error and see what possibilities are built in that allow me to customize it how I want.
